Taking an umbrella with you on your beach trip will not only offer some shade to keep you cool but also keep you shaded from the sun if you get too hot. Choose the Right Location

- Push one anchor with your foot until it is flush against the chair leg and hold it steady while you push the other anchor in with your hand, but not so far that it comes out of its slot.
- Pull up on each anchor until they are snugly secured in their slots, and tighten them by turning them clockwise until they won’t turn any further.
- Make sure the umbrella’s canopy is oriented over your sitting area.
- Place one of the stakes through an eyelet hole near the bottom of the umbrella pole, making sure it’s pointing downward toward where you’ll want to place it in sand or soil.
- Drive this stake into the ground until only about six inches (15 centimeters) protrude from sand or soil for stability, then remove and drive in another stake approximately two feet (60 cm) away from the first stake; repeat this process as needed.
